During the pandemic, we welcomed 1,159 new Giving Partners, spent 340 hours volunteering virtually and in person, donated 15,265,116 pairs of socks, and ordered 180 pizzas to a local family shelter. Because pizza is delicious.

Donated $250,000 to organizations who work every day to combat the root causes of systemic inequality in the Black community: A Second U Foundation, Sister’s Circle, Nation Bail Fund Network, Black Lives Matter, The Marsha P Johnson Institute.
Worked with The Ally Coalition who helped us distribute socks to the LGBTQ+ community for every pair of Pride Collection socks sold.
Hosted Alieza Durham from the Eviction Lab at Princeton to help educate the Bombas team on the complexities of eviction, and its connection to homelessness.
Assembled and distributed donation kits to Hive members who were interested in distributing Bombas socks, masks, hand sanitizer, snack bars, and disinfecting wipes in their own neighborhoods.
Provided donation socks to outreach efforts on the Upper West Side in NYC, as a number of homeless individuals have been moved out of crowded shelters and into hotels there.
Celebrated our Giving Partner, Human.nyc, whose work successfully helped end the Subway Diversion Program which met unhoused folks with police rather than supportive services.
Welcomed new Giving Partner, Street Dogz, an organization in Las Vegas, Nevada. Since animals aren't welcome in most shelters, Street Dogz provides resources for homeless pet owners (and their animal companions) that may have chosen to stay on the street as a safer alternative to shelters.
Hosted Asian Americans for Equality at our internal All-Hands meeting, so we could learn more about the inequities facing this community, and particularly increased racism due to harmful narratives surrounding the spread of COVID-19.
Celebrated over 40 million pairs of socks donated, all thanks to you (our customers) and our giving community.
On Giving Tuesday, we hosted our first ever customer-facing webinar to talk about the realities and complexities of homelessness with experts, advocates, and a gentleman with lived experience.
Celebrated our annual Hometown Giving Initiative which connected 68 Bombas team members to a Giving Partner in their hometown and sent 1,000 pairs of donation socks to each.
We launched underwear, the #2 most requested clothing item at homeless shelters, so that we could donate a pair for every pair sold.
Launched The Black Hive Collection. For every pair of socks sold from this collection, we donated a pair to someone in need within the Black community.
A year later, we’re feeling hopeful. We’re encouraged by the engagement we’re seeing, and we’re inspired to create even more opportunities to maintain the conversation around homelessness.
